IPCE is the institution of the Spanish Ministry of Culture, committed to the research, conservation, restoration and documentation of Spanish Cultural Heritage.
IPCE Archive safeguards a unique technical documentation: reports and files of intervention projects on movable and immovable property, as well as their corresponding graphic documentation and scientific results such as x-ray radiographies, micro-samples, stratigraphic charts, spectrums, photographs, etc. performed with a range of innovative techniques. It may be viewed as a fundamental reference point for the study of the Spanish cultural heritage of different periods, artists and schools. These cultural assets are drawn from Spanish archaeological sites, monuments and all kinds of objects from different National Art Collections, which mainly include European Art, but also other origins such as the Mediterranean Basin and Latin America. Concerning chronology, they range from Antiquity (3.000 B.C.) to the XXth Century (1970).
