Description
Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) is a seismic method that analyses surface-wave dispersion to estimate variations in subsurface shear-wave velocity. Dispersion curves are extracted and inverted to create Vs depth profiles and two-dimensional pseudo-sections. In shallow marine settings, MASW uses Scholte waves and can identify high-velocity anomalies associated with buried masonry, bedrock and other subsurface structures.
