Description
Seismic Refraction Tomography (SRT) is a seismic imaging method that uses the first-arrival times of compressional P-waves to reconstruct subsurface velocity variations. ecause wave velocity changes between soils, sediments and rocks, travel-time differences can reveal stratigraphic boundaries, bedrock geometry and lateral geological changes. Tomographic inversion iteratively adjusts a velocity model until calculated and measured arrival times agree.
