The Ancient DNA Laboratory is a dedicated clean lab facility. The laboratory has positive air pressure and measures to avoid contamination, such as UV-C lighting and the use of full body suits. The laboratory includes equipment for drilling samples, crushing archaeobotanical remains. Laminar flow cabinets are used for wet chemistry steps, including DNA extraction and Illumina library preparation. A separate, dedicated post-PCR laboratory is used to amplify and quantify libraries.
