Description
Raman spectroscopy is a molecular vibrational spectroscopic based on the inelastic light scattering in a material where the incident light (of energy depending on the laser excitation sources) transfers energy to molecular vibrations. The energy of the inelastic scattered photons equals the vibrational energy levels of the molecules representing a “chemical fingerprint” of the substance.
