Description
Reflectance spectral imaging is an efficient way of collecting millions of reflectance spectra over a region of interest in one image cube (2D spatial and wavelength in the 3rd dimension). In the visible to near-infrared (VIS-NIR) spectral region, the spectral features primarily concern electronic transitions in molecules and can allow the identification of historical materials such as pigments and dyes. For this filter-based spectral imaging system, large area scanning can be achieved by acquiring a series of spectral image cubes which, after image rectification, can be stitched to create high-resolution large area spectral image cubes of a region.
